Dragon Age II Day-One DLC

Continuing the trend they started with “Dragon Age: Origins,” BioWare has confirmed “Dragon Age II” will feature day-one downloadable content entitled “The Exiled Prince.” As before, it will feature an additional character with related quests.

As with “Dragon Age: Origins” and “Mass Effect 2,” it is possible to get this DLC for free. However, the promotion has been altered from the previous releases, as only those who purchase the Signature Edition of “Dragon Age II” will be entitled to this bonus, which also features additional in-game items and a digital download for the soundtrack.

The good news is that anyone who pre-orders the game before January 11th will be upgraded to the Signature Edition without paying any additional cost. Any that miss out on this deal will have to pay $7 for the DLC, or the equivalent 560 Microsoft/BioWare points.

Many developers are using tactics such as this to help boost launch day sales and new sales in general in an effort to combat pre-owned sales where only the retailer makes the profit.
