Nintendo 3DS will not be accepting Nintendo Point Cards, still wants your money

With the Nintendo 3DS launching in a little over a month, you might be thinking about stocking up on some Nintendo Points, the Nintendo currency that can currently be used to purchase content for the Wii and the DSi.  You might want to re-think that idea.

“Prepaid Nintendo point cards cannot be used with the Nintendo 3DS,” Nintendo announced on its Japanese site. “Prepaid point cards that can be used with the 3DS will go on sale at a later date.”

While the 3DS will be accepting major credit cards, the lack of Nintendo Points integration is a little frustrating. I agree with Kotaku: “It does make everything into an enormous pain in the butt.”
