PAX log — Friday

PAX East 2011 - playwisegaming.comToday is the first official day of PAX! I awoke from a “refreshing” four hour nap at 7 a.m. I wouldn’t exactly call it sleeping, but it was better than nothing.

There are a reported 70,000 people attending PAX this weekend, and the lines are proof of those numbers — I waited in line for about an hour to get into the opening keynote, which was given by Jane McGonigal.

McGonigal’s talk was very reminiscent of her TED talk, but entertaining nonetheless. She spoke on the potential of gamers and how we can all be a vector of awesomeness influencing over 250 people with the positive attitudes we glean from games.

Mike and Jerry - playwisegaming.comAfter the keynote, the leaders of Penny Arcade, Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, took to the stage to give a little Q & A session. Several people came bearing gifts, including a pretty incredible piece of PAX fanart, which I was unable to get a picture of, but just imagine it being really incredible.

As of this writing, I haven’t yet gotten to see the show floor but I’ll be checking it out soon and posting a sweet gallery of images, expect a giant floating Pikachu to be among them.

For more specifics on the keynote and the rest of my day’s events, check out the podcast that will be posted at the end of the day.

Unquestionably believe that which you said. Your favorite justification appeared to
be on the internet the easiest thing to be aware of.
I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people think about worries that they just
do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without
having side-effects , people could take a signal. Will likely be back
    to get more. Thanks
