At the brink of the new year, a horrible dread washed over the Xbox Live Indie Games, ensnaring gamers in its maddening tentacles.  This foul beast is know as… “Cthulhu Saves the World.”  Will you heed its call for additional funds?

“Cthulhu Saves the World” is a twisted creation of classic 2D RPG gameplay writhing with parody.  The game features many gameplay elements from Zeboyd Games previous title “Breath of Death VII: The Beginning,” such as branching level-up paths for characters and a combo system employed during battles.

Torchlight Illuminating XBLA

If you own an Xbox 360, I hope you’re ready to lose hours of your life delving through dungeons. In Spring 2011, “Torchlight” is coming the the Xbox Live Arcade.

For those unfamiliar with “Torchlight’s” initial PC release in 2009, it is a “Diablo” clone in all the best ways, which is unsurprising as developer Runic Games was founded by previous “Diablo” designers. “Torchlight” features three different character classes, each with three skill trees, two different pets, endless random dungeons and hordes of loot to load your backpack up with.

Dragon Age II Day-One DLC

Continuing the trend they started with “Dragon Age: Origins,” BioWare has confirmed “Dragon Age II” will feature day-one downloadable content entitled “The Exiled Prince.” As before, it will feature an additional character with related quests.

Slugging It Out in the DC Universe Online Beta

Immovable Rock vs. Unstoppable Force

The heroes and villains realized within DC’s comic books are some of the most popular and recognizable icons throughout the world. There have been many attempts by various developers to create videogames based on some of the most well-known among these characters, the most obvious being Batman and Superman.

Generally, these projects culminate in less than stellar results, with only a few bright stars shining through. Now, Sony Online Entertainment is gathering all of these heroes and villains and releasing them in one big MMO universe where players will traverse the iconic locations alongside them with their own player made characters. Welcome to “DC Universe Online.”
