Zelda smorgasbord: Skyward Sword trailer, later release date, Ocarina screens and mystery project

Several morsels of Zelda information were released during the San Francisco Game Developers Conference 2011 over the last few days, with the most recent being a brand new trailer for the latest Wii game in the franchise, “Skyward Sword.” While the brand-new, gameplay-toting trailer is quite a treat for Zelda fans, the accompanying news is certainly not.

72-inch painting celebrates 25 years of Zelda

zelda25 - playwisegaming.comBelow is an incredibly detailed 72-inch Zelda painting by Japanese artist Ag+. It was released just in time for the 25th year anniversary of the Zelda franchise, and it contains just about every major character from the series.

It’s worth taking a moment to pick out all the intricately woven details of the piece in remembrance of all the years of gaming  Zelda has provided over the years. Delay imminent for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword?

Skyward Sword In a recent interview with Pocket-lint, a UK tech site, Zelda creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, stated that the next title in the series is “over half complete.”

This could indicate a delay for the game, which is currently slated for a first-quarter release in 2011. This news comes as somewhat of a surprise since Miyamoto himself told gaming magazine Nintendo Power in July that the basis for the game was “very, very solid.”
